Youthful Impact Celebrates 60+ High School Students For Accomplishing Google Certifications

By supporting Youthful Impact, you play a pivotal role in nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit of our youth, providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed. Please donate today and join us in making a lasting impact on urban youth 14 to 24 years old.

Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim joined us on May 17th 2024 to honor 62 Bridgeport high school students for completing college-level courses via Grow with Google, a training program to help make them eligible for in-demand jobs and gain easier access to Connecticut’s state college and university system with up to 12 credits.

With their earned certificates, these high school students can now access 150 employers via Google’s employer consortium from seven high-growing fields: cybersecurity, data analytics, user experience (UX) design, IT support, project management, digital marketing, and e-commerce.

The participants achieved remarkable success in record time, and we couldn’t be more proud. Thank you to the Bridgeport Board of Education Chair, Christine Baptiste-Perez for joining us and to the principal Chris Johnson, counselors, and teachers for supporting this program.

A huge thank you to Google for generously supporting these students with awesome giveaways. Lastly, thank you to Bridgeport Mayor Joseph Ganim for supporting the opportunity to contribute to the development of Connecticut’s future leaders through Grow with Google.
